Design in Action

Design in Action (DiA) is an engine of growth for Scotland: six universities, funded by the Arts & Humanities Research Council, working together to build a growing network of business people, academics, designers and creatives. Working with our design partner Project, we engineered and built a fully-responsive website to facilitate this growing network.

What we did: Information architecture, User interface design, responsive design consultation.

ESS

Evaluation Support Scotland needed an entirely new site, to replace one built on outdated technology that wasn't providing what the organisations they support needed. We designed and built a much simpler, more effective and ultimately friendlier site that not only provides improved access to ESS' many resources, but better represents the personality of their organisation.

What we did: Information architecture, User interface design, Custom CMS development, website visual design.

Trend Micro

Trend Micro's European web team wanted an easier way to manage products data on their website. We've designed and implemented an internal tool that allows them to easily manage versioning, translations into multiple languages, links to external data sources and much more. The system is now used to plug product data into most of Trend's European sites, and is still expanding.

What we did: Information architecture, User interface design, Custom CMS development, Integration with existing systems.

What we’ve been up to lately

May 2013 - the Design in Action site is now live ahead of its official launch next week at several events around Scotland. We'll be hobnobbing alongside representatives of the Arts & Humanities Research Council, Creative Scotland, the University of Dundee and five other Scottish Universities to celebrate the day!

March 2013 - we've just launched a new website for the Pilton Community Health Project: the Food For Thought Forum, at http://www.foodforthoughtforum.org.uk. A handy little tool to help the people of Pilton find local resources designed to teach healthier eating.

19 December 2012 - the new website for Evaluation Support Scotland is live at http://www.evaluationsupportscotland.org.uk! We've really enjoyed working with ESS, who have been very keenly involved in every step of the website build - and it shows.
